Essential Chemicals
Without Fossil Fuels
Through a process called CO2 electrolysis, CERT converts carbon dioxide emissions into sustainable high-value chemicals, using only water and electricity.
Direct Conversion to Ethylene
CERT offers the only single-step process to produce sustainable ethylene, reducing CapEx and physical footprint. Unlike other processes, we don’t require costly feedstocks such as hydrogen, ethanol, or syngas.
Sustainable Chemical Feedstocks
Every tonne of ethylene made with CERT’s process sequesters over 3 tonnes of CO2. We plan to mitigate over half a gigatonne of annual CO2 emissions using our novel process.
Exactly the Same, Except Better
The molecules produced through CERT’s process are chemically identical to virgin fossil molecules, enabling the use of existing downstream processes without further adjustment – the only difference is the carbon footprint.

Breakthrough Technology for a Cleaner Tomorrow
CERT’s team has decades of experience in cleantech innovation, bringing together experts in electrochemistry, materials science, and engineering to scale and advance its CO2 electrolysis process.
The CERT team was the first in the world to demonstrate the conversion of industrial emissions into ethylene, as a finalist in the NRG COSIA Carbon XPRIZE.
Our diverse group is motivated to fight climate change and keen to work with our partners to bring about a sustainable future.
